JOIN OUR LITTLE MOVEMENT.
Hey there. If you’re a young adult writer, illustrator, photographer, or artist of any kind (or really just a young adult with some thoughtful things to say about young adulthood), Mazing wants to hear from you.
Mazing is a print publication committed to giving a platform to the voices of young adult creatives as we process our winding journeys through career, relationships, travel, and just plain existence. For six issues we’ve been pulling together a close network of game-changers and idea-makers who have molded the voice of Mazing. And now, it’s open season baby. For our first Mazing Mini, we’re opening up submissions to anyone between the ages of 20-35 (more or less) who wants to share. A limited selection of written pieces and visual art will be featured in our Mini print (around 60 small pages), and the remaining will be reviewed for our online platform, so for the prime real estate be sure to submit your best work. writers.
We’re looking for compelling, fresh pieces around our 6 main topics: Reach (career), Hang (relationships), Roam (travel), Impact (social engagement), Craft (art/creativity), and Survive (think: life hacks). Particularly, we are exploring the theme of Muse—pulling back the curtain to discern the why behind the what, as it pertains to our creative lives and the daily grind alike.
We welcome and encourage various styles of writing, including personal essays, journalistic pieces, poetry, interviews, and listicles. In sharing personal stories, we prefer relevance and applicability over fluff. Bear in mind the breadth of your audience--what young adults you might be writing to besides yourself and your immediate group of peers. A few more tips:
